On Thursday, the Game Awards revealed viewership figures for its 2020, held live virtually last week, and the show has broken its own record once again.

Over 83 million unique livestreams tuned into the show across all available platforms and countries, with a peak concurrent viewership of 8.3 million viewers. The Game Awards 2020 aired on over 40 digital networks including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and Steam, as well as digital networks in China, Japan, South Korea, India and Brazil.

The 83 million livestream figure is an 84 percent increase from the 2019 awards, which reached 45.2 million livestreams and peak concurrent viewership of 7 million.

“In this most challenging of years, the video game industry has continued to deliver for its fans,” Geoff Keighley, producer, creator and host of the Game Awards, said. “We are deeply humbled to see that excitement translate into these record-setting results, with significant upticks in total viewership, watch time and social engagement around the world.”

The Game Awards has posted continuous growth since its inaugural show in 2014. Viewership figures for the annual event are listed below, by year and also percentage increase.

2020: 83 Million (Up 84 percent)

2019: 45.2 Million (Up 73 percent)

2018: 26.2 Million (Up 128 percent)

2017: 11.5 Million (Up 202 percent)

2016: 3.8 Million (Up 65 percent)

2015: 2.3 MIllion (Up 23 percent)

2014: 1.9 Million
